Praia, Jan 16 (Inforpress) – Prime Minister Ulisses Correia said he was aware of the challenges and constraints the Cabo Verdean military institution still faces, and reaffirmed the “firm will” of the government, along with the military, beat them and overtake them.
“Our determination is total,” said the head of government during his speech at the central act of the 53rd anniversary celebrations of the Armed Forces (FA), which took place on Wednesday, 15th, in Assomada, Santa Catarina, countryside of Santiago.
This commemoration, said Ulisses Correia, happens as the new Military Discipline Regulation and the new Military Statute come into force. All this, he said, coupled with the investments which have been made in the barracks.
“We will be significantly improving your military status and, above all, consolidating the Armed Forces of Cabo Verde,” continued the prime minister, noting that the executive also approved the Coast Guard Strategic Plan, announcing they are working to provide the Armed Forces with the operational means necessary for its performance as an institution of defense and national sovereignty. Ulisses Correia took advantage of his speech to also address all those who, with professionalism and patriotic sense, serve Cabo Verde in the Armed Forces.
