Spain: Government official says that taking part in Fitur will help Cabo Verde to better structure its product

Madrid, Jan 26 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Tourism and Transport, Carlos Santos, assured today that Cape Verde’s participation in the Madrid International Tourism Fair (Fitur) will help the country to better structure its tourism product.

The government official gave this assurance in statements to Inforpress in Madrid, as part of a review of his presence at Fitur in the Spanish capital, which runs from January 24th to 28th. He was present at the opening and ends his participation in the event today, but Cabo Verde will continue with its stand until the last day.

According to the minister, during the three days at the fair, he had the opportunity to meet several hotel chains, agencies and tour operators “eager” to invest in Cabo Verde, given the country’s potential, its security “which is a fundamental asset” and its location.

“We had the opportunity to meet with the Portuguese Secretary of State for Tourism [Nuno Fazenda], with whom we have a very fruitful relationship that is bearing fruit, such as in the area of training human resources, preserving heritage and developing tourist villages. We have a protocol signed for preservation, but also for the creation of new tourist villages in Cabo Verde and all of this helps us to better structure our product,” he said.
