SIACSA announces new strike of SolAtlântico drivers for October 7

Praia, Sep 22 (Inforpress) – The drivers at the Urban Passenger Collective Transport Company, Sol Atlântico today announced a new notice of a second strike followed by a peaceful demonstration through the Plateau streets, in October 7.

While the 48-hour strike is still taking place, the Union  for Industry and General Services, Food, Civil Construction, Agriculture, Services of the Private Security and Maritime and Port Services (SIACSA) sector has made this new strike notice arrive in Inforpress, followed by a public demonstration.

The president of SIACSA, Gilberto Lima, for whom the strike had a support of more than 95 percent, said the workers understood to leave for a second strike, arguing that the parties did not reach any understanding or the resolution of the problems claimed in this first strike.

The SolAtlântico drivers, according to the Union, complain the “resumption of the shift allowance of 4.000$00, compliance with labour contracts, payments of deducted quotas, but are not channeled to the SIACSA and better articulation in the delivery of ticket values, as well as more dignity to the class”.
