São Vicente: Articulation with the private sector presented as one of the main obstacles of the Jov@ Emprego programme (with audio)

Mindelo, Jul 10 (Inforpress) – The articulation with the private sector is one of the biggest obstacles facing the Jova@ Emprego Government programme according to the national programme responsibles, which have been meeting in Mindelo since Monday.

Together with the geography of the islands, dispersed communities, and the behavioral issue of young people, who need to be “more motivated”, the articulation with the private sector, according to the Director of Vocational Training of the Directorate-General for Employment and Professional Training, Cláudia Varela, is shown as one of the “major constraints” of the Governmental Jov@Emprego programme.

“We have to improve this relationship with the private sector, because it is this articulation that brings more vacancies and more jobs for youth and women, who are the main public of this programme,” said the official to Inforpress, adding that this 3rd Meeting aims to share the key results achieved so far, discuss the ongoing activities and the tools that could contribute to the “greater effectiveness” of the project.

The same vision was taken by the project coordinator, run by the Government, but executed by two United Nations agencies, the International Labour Organization (ILO) and UNDP.
