São Filipe: Council considers home collection of solid waste in some neighbourhoods with the arrival of more equipment.

São Filipe, Jan 5 (Inforpress) – The Sanitation Service of City Council of São Filipe will introduce, on an experimental basis, the collection of solid urban waste in some neighbourhoods from February with the arrival of equipment for this sector, a city source announced.

The mayor of São Filipe, Nuías Silva, announced on Thursday, at the consignment ceremony for the construction of the municipal slaughterhouse, the arrival next month of a larger rubbish collection truck and 100 more containers to improve the sanitation system.

According to him, it is a truck suitable for collecting rubbish with a capacity of 17 tonnes, so the municipality will try out home rubbish collection in some neighbourhoods and localities, thus removing the containers of the streets.

In order to improve the sanitation system in the city and the municipality, Nuías Silva called on the population to put their rubbish in the bins, but also to separate the waste to make it easier to collect.
