Santo Antão: Employees of the regional hospital outraged with successive delays in payment of overtime

Ribeira Grande, Dec 20 (Inforpress) – Several employees of the João Morais Regional Hospital (HRJM), Ribeira Grande, Santo Antão, say they are “disgusted” due to successive delays in the payment of overtime, claim that the situation goes back five months and ask for “convincing” clarification from the employer.

The group of HRJM employees hired by the Ministry of Health (MS), who contacted Inforpress to report the situation, asked not to be identified for “fear of possible threats”.

They claimed that they have been “suffering abuse” from their employers regarding late payment of overtime over the last four years.

“We’ve been making the same complaint for the last four years, and we’ve been ignored by the leaders, especially the Minister of Health. This year there have already been five months of work delay after working hours and when they decide to pay us they don’t pay us the full amount, they deduct two months, it’s three months and then they let it go back,” they emphasised.
