Sal Island: Liceu Olavo Moniz Day marked with cultural events and launch of campaign against GBV

Espargos, Jan 17 (Inforpress) – Liceu Olavo Moniz Day in Sal, which is being marked today, is being celebrated with cultural events and the launch of the second phase of the campaign against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) under the slogan “Dess mente ka ta sei violência” ( Violence doesn’t come from that mind).

The students of Escola Básica e Secundária Olavo Moniz (EBSOM) are celebrating the school’s 36th anniversary with various cultural activities, including music and dance, taking place on the Toy Pedro pedestrian walkway in the centre of Preguiça, starting at 3 PM.

Luísa Graça, the headmaster of the high school, explained that organising activities in this space aims to bring the school closer to the community, promoting engagement and the exchange of experiences, an “important factor” in social development.

“Working on building a positive relationship with the community is very important for the development of the school and the students themselves,” she emphasised.
