Santa Maria, Dec 19 (Inforpress) – Fifteen immigrants received their certificates in Basic Cooking and Pastry on Monday on the island of Sal, following the course given by the Cabo Verde Hotel and Tourism School (EHTCV) in Sal.

The certificates were handed out as part of the International Migrants Day celebrations by the Local Immigration Unit (ULI) and the City Council of Sal.

The training, which is part of the Coop4Int Project – Strengthening Migrant Integration through cooperation between Portugal and Cabo Verde, is implemented by the Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum, IP (AIMA), the High Authority for Immigration (AAI), the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE), and the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB), with financial support of the European Union.

The AAI’s Local technician, Nademira Silva, told the press that ULI, together with the Municipal Council of Sal, “has been developing a range of activities to celebrate immigrants’ day over the past few days, focused on raising awareness about the rights and duties of immigrants”.
