Sal Island: Cabo Verde Airlines started Monday regular flights to Lagos (Nigeria)

Espargos, Dec 11 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde Airlines (CVA) began regular flights Monday to Lagos, Nigeria, from Amílcar Cabral International Airport in the Sal Island.

The airplane that made the maiden flight took off from Amílcar Cabral International Airport (Sal) at 10:30 pm and arrived at Murtala Muhammed Airport (Lagos) at 4:25 am (2:25 am Cabo Verde local time).

Prior to the departure of the flight, board member Erlendur Svavarsson stressed the importance of linking with Nigeria as part of the company’s strategy of linking the African continent to the other continents where the Cabo Verdean flag carrier operates.

“Starting today, Lagos will be even more connected to the world, as with Cabo Verde Airlines’ hub in Sal it will be easier to travel to the United States, Brazil and Europe,” said Erlendur Svavarsson, stressing that Cabo Verde is still an unknown archipelago for Nigerian and was convinced that the air link with Lagos will reverse the situation.
