Remains of Emeritus Bishop Paulino will be buried in Nossa Senhora da Graça Pro-Cathedral 

Praia, Jun 18 (Inforpress) – The remains of the Emeritus Bishop Dom Paulino Evora, who died Sunday in the City of Praia, are to be buried on Wednesday, the 19th, at Nossa Senhora da Graça church, the Diocese of Santiago.

The remains of Dom Paulino, according to a press release from the Diocese of Santiago released on Sunday, were initially buried Wednesday, 19, in the cemetery of Várzea, in the City of Praia.

According to the same source, Cardinal Dom Arlindo Furtado authorized this Monday, through a decree, which, according to the Code of Canon Law, Bishop Paulino, who was diocesan bishop of the Diocese of Santiago of Cabo Verde for 34 years and emeritus for 10 years, to be buried inside the Cathedral Church.

In order to fulfill this canonical requirement the Diocese had to coordinate with the civil authorities, namely the City Hall of Praia, in accordance with the Code of Canon Law, to obtain authorization to burial outside the municipal cemetery.
