Prosecutor accuses former CMP employee for 26 crimes of document forgery and qualified fraud

Praia, Aug 12 (Inforpress) – The Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) has indicted and requested the criminal prosecution of a former City Hall of Praia (CMP) employee for 26 crimes of document forgery and qualified fraud.

According to a publication on the Public Prosecutor’s Office website, this decision follows a complaint filed reporting facts that occurred between January 2015 and February 2017, which may indicate the existence of criminal offenses committed in the context of taxi transportation licensing in the municipality of Praia.

According to the MP, the 36-year-old female defendant who, at the same time as the practice of the facts, was acting as Clerk’s Assistant at the Coercive Collection Directorate of the City Hall of Praia and at the CMP Taxi Licensing Service, was imputed to be author of 26 crimes of falsification of documents and 26 crimes of qualified fraud, provided for and punishable in the Penal Code.

The prosecutor also charged another 46-year-old male defendant for the same crimes, who at the time of the facts had affective relations with the former employee.
