President of the Republic “cautious” to pronounce on the existence of oil in Cabo Verde

Santa Maria, Jul 1 (Inforpress) – The President of the Republic, Jorge Carlos Fonseca, was “cautious” to pronounce on the possibility of the existence or not of oil in Cabo Verde and for this he has to listen “more qualified entities” at the national level.

“As President, I have to listen to more qualified entities at the national level so that I can give a more informed and concrete opinion,” said the Head of State.

Jorge Carlos Fonseca made these considerations when he was confronted this Sunday, on the sidelines of the Sal World Literature Festival, which took place from June 27 to 30 in the tourist town of Santa Maria, with statements by Cabo Verdean researcher António Lobo de Pina, which the discovery of “large reserves” of oil in Senegal, which has maritime borders with Cabo Verde, is a “good harbinger” for the archipelago.

“Let’s see, let’s see,” summarized the President of the Republic in answering the question about the possible existence of oil in the archipelago.
