Poser programme invests around 90,000 escudos in São Nicolau island from 2016 to 2022

Ribeira Brava, Dec 6 (Inforpress) – The programme for the Promotion of Rural Socio-Economic Opportunities (Poser) has invested around 90,000 escudos in the island of São Nicolau, mainly in “structuring projects”, announced the programme’s coordinator.

According to Jaime Pina, who was speaking at the presentation of the programme’s results for the 2016/2022 period, one of the projects that has been developed is the hydro-agricultural project in the town of Praia Branca and another that is currently underway and covers the towns of Queimadas and Canto de Fajã.

According to the programme’s data, from 2016 to 2022 nine programmes in the hydro-agricultural sector were contemplated on the island, generating around 441 new jobs.

The Poser programme has already generated 3,435 jobs and benefited 21,878 people, 2,431 of them in 55 rural territories on the seven islands where it is implemented, according to the same source.
