PN Regional Commander ensures that the alleged responsible of the vandalism at PAICV headquarters has already been identified

Praia, Jul 25 (Inforpress) – The National Police Regional Commander announced on Wednesday that the responsible of the recent vandalism at PAICV headquarters has been identified and within days the case will be sent to the Public Prosecution.

Renato Fernandes made this announcement during a visit by a delegation from the Cabo Verdean African Independence Party (opposition party), led by its leader Janira Hopffer Almada, to the Video Surveillance System Command Center in Praia to prepare the debate on the state of the nation scheduled for the end of July in the Parliament.

During the visit, the president of the largest opposition party expressed concern since the PAICV headquarters, located in an area where there is a video surveillance camera, had been vandalized twice and until the moment she was visiting the command has no information from the authorities about the alleged responsible.

In the meantime, later, in statements to the press, Janira Hopffer Almada was “pleased” with the disclosed information on identifying the  alleged responsible at her party’s headquarters, but “would be pleased” when “properly and publicly clarified.” “What I want, as a citizen and president of PAICV, for other acts to be clarified as well, especially the most serious ones,” said Janira Hopffer Almada, who acknowledges the “great work” that many police officers have been doing, and as she said many of them life-threatening to ensure the safety of citizens ”.
