Minister wants III Immigration Action Plan to guarantee full integration of immigrants in Cabo Verde

Praia City, 06 Dec (Inforpress) – The Minister of Family, Inclusion and Social Development today highlighted the importance of the III Action Plan for regular, legal and coherent immigration in the full integration of all citizens of the immigrant community in Cabo Verde.

Fernando Elísio Freire made this point to the press, on the sidelines of the opening of the XIII Ordinary Plenary Session of the National Immigration Council, which met this morning in the City of Praia, to debate and approve the Proposal for the III Action Plan for Immigration 2023 -2025.

The minister highlighted all the social and economic measures, both in terms of social income and inclusion, economic recovery policy measures, security policy, in the area of justice, adopted by the Government with the aim of promoting better integration of the immigrant community in Cabo Verde

However, he emphasised the fact that Cabo Verde is a country on the route of international human trafficking and illegal immigration, pointing out that a few months ago the government had to take appropriate action to deal with the situation of illegal immigration on the island of Sal from the African continent.
