Maio Island among three chosen to benefit of policy to reduce regional asymmetries

Porto Inglês, Dec 19 (Inforpress) – The island of Maio will be one of the beneficiaries of the policy to reduce regional asymmetries and territorial cohesion, within the framework of the State Budget for 2024, said Minister Janine Lélis.

This information was provided on Monday by the Minister for Territorial Cohesion during the meeting of the Board of Regional Coordination of Maio, stressing that this government measure aims to correct regional asymmetries, enabling islands such as Brava, Maio and São Nicolau to have a set of incentives.

As said by that government official, one of the incentives is to create the conditions for the establishment of staff, as well as the creation of mobility facilities, noting that this legislative measure aims to unify the market, since on these three islands there is less scale of market.

With this Government intervention, she highlighted that the intention is to provide harmonious development among the islands.
