“If there is a country that should make the issue of the ocean central, it is Cabo Verde” – prime minister

Mindelo, 13 Nov (Inforpress) – The Prime Minister highlighted this Monday, in Mindelo, that if there is a country that should place the issue of the ocean as a central issue, that country is Cabo Verde, as it is from the sea that resources and the potentialities.

Ulisses Correia e Silva demonstrated this position when presiding over the 6th edition of Cabo Verde Ocean Week, at the Mindelo Oceanographic Center.

“If there is a country that should make the issue of the ocean central, it is Cape Verde”, he urged, praising the fact that the archipelago is 99% sea and this is where resources and potential can come from, under sustainable management.

The head of Government also defended the idea that if the country works on several fronts, builds a climate and environmental financing system, as it has been developing, and if conditions are created for societies to take ownership of climate action, it will be possible “put Cabo Verde in a better place”.
