Fortaleza hosts the UCCLA General Assembly with the participation of the City councils of Praia and Sal

Lisbon, Nov 20 (Inforpress) – The city of Fortaleza (Brazil) is today hosting the 39th General Assembly of the UCCLA, made up of delegations of cities and companies from Portuguese-speaking member countries, including the city councils of Praia and Sal.

The two Cape Verdean cities will be represented at the General Assembly of the Union of Portuguese Language Capital Cities (UCCLA), an event that will also be attended by the Association of Portuguese Language Universities (AULP).

In addition to Cabo Verde, cities of Benguela, Huambo, Icolo and Bengo, Luanda, Talatona (Angola) Belém, Fortaleza (Brazil), Macau (China), Bissau, Bolama/Bijagós (Guinea-Bissau), Chibuto, Ilha de Moçambique , Maputo, Nampula (Mozambique), Almada, Braga, Cascais, Coimbra, Covilhã, Lisbon, Porto (Portugal), Água Grande, Santo António do Príncipe (São Tomé and Príncipe) and Dili (Timor-Leste).

In a statement, the UCCLA emphasised that the fact that the current Brazilian executive has created the Ministry of Cities, which will be represented at the inaugural session of the General Assembly, as well as a wide range of representatives from the Federated States of Brazil, reflects the rapprochement that is intended.
