Fogo Island: Destino Fogo – ecological and sustainable development of tourism and innovation of the offer is the new project of the NGO Cospe

São Filipe, Jan 30 (Inforpress) – The Italian non-governmental organization Cospe, which has been working on the island of Fogo for more than two decades, will implement a new project linked to the ecological and sustainable tourism sector over the next three years.

According to a press release, the project called “Destino Fogo – ecological and sustainable development of tourism and innovation of the offer in Fogo” will be implemented by the NGO Cospe in partnership with the Vitó Project Association, the Cape Verdean Association for the Fight Against Gender-Based Violence (ACLCVBG), Laço Branco, the FG Tourism Association, the Italian Association of Responsible Tourism (AITR) and the three councils on the island.

The official presentation and launch of the new project, which is being funded by the European Union, is scheduled for the second week of February in the city of São Filipe, where those responsible for the non-governmental organization will present the rationale for the project’s intervention, as well as introducing the partners

The official presentation of the project will include the identification and selection of the locations on the island for the implementation of the participatory analysis of the ecotourism chain and the identification of the target communities.
