Fogo: Delegation from Bridgewater University gives lecture on “Coffee Agroecotourism in Central America”

São Filipe, Jan 11 (Inforpress) – A delegation from Bridgewater University in the United States, made up of nine students and a professor, will today give a lecture on coffee agro-ecotourism in Central America.

The delegation arrived on the island of Fogo on 5 January, as part of institutional relations with the three municipalities, for a week-long visit aimed at deepening knowledge and research into Fogo’s coffee economy.

The lecture that marks the penultimate day of the visit is scheduled for 10:30 AM in the session room of the Municipal Assembly of São Filipe.

With regard to the visit, the mayor of Mosteiros, Fábio Vieira, said that when he travelled to the United States in 2022 on a visit to Bridgewater University, he invited Professor James Hayes-Bohanan, a specialist in Human Geography, Sustainability and the Coffee Economy, to visit Mosteiros and help the municipality draw up a historiography of Fogo’s coffee and develop a strategy to promote, enhance and internationalise Fogo’s coffee.
