First lady considers that the situation of domestic workers has been improving

Praia, July 25 (Inforpress) – First Lady Lígia Fonseca said Wednesday that the regulation of domestic work in Cabo Verde has contributed to the improvement of the class situation in the country.

The statement was made by Lígia Fonseca, this afternoon, in Praia, moments before presiding over an open conversation with the Cabo Verde Domestic Workers Association, to mark the International Domestic Workers Day, celebrated on July 22.

“At this time and in recent times, the situation has been improving, in the Labour Code, there is already an express regulation on domestic work and with access to social security. This is a big improvement for these workers, ” she said.

With the creation of the Cabo Verdean Domestic Workers Association, he stressed that this group has been doing a great job of publicizing the rights of domestic workers, which for the first lady have the same rights as any other worker.
