Praia, Jan 24 (Inforpress) – The eighth Chinese Cultural Week in Cabo Verde starts today and runs until February 1 under the theme “promoting a new era of relations between the Cabo Verdean and Chinese peoples”, as part of the “track and route ”.
At a press conference to present the program, the president of the Cabo Verde-China Friendship Association (AMICACHI), José Correia, informed that the activities will take place in the cities of Praia, Mindelo and Island of Fogo, in the municipalities of São Filipe and Santa Catarina.
He said that this edition of the cultural week will take place under the banner of Rato and that this initiative is intended not only to celebrate the Chinese New Year, but also to contribute to the promotion of Chinese culture in Cabo Verde and to create a space to foster relations between the two countries in different fields. Therefore, he underlined that the Cabo Verde Cultural Week – China is already part of the Cabo Verdean cultural agenda, considering that it is currently one of the best Chinese cultural weeks in the sub-region.
At City of Praia, the highlight of the activities, as José Correia informed, will be on Saturday, 25, at 7:00PM at the National Auditorium, with the Chinese New Year Gala, and in Mindelo, it will be on Sunday, 26, with the cultural show Cabo Verde – China.
