ECREEE and Smart City Foundation work together to implement innovative and sustainable projects

Praia, Dec 5 (Inforpress) – The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) will help the Smart City Cabo Verde Foundation mobilise resources to implement innovative projects in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable energies and related sectors.

The memorandum of understanding that formalises this partnership was signed on Tuesday in Praia by the executive director of ECREEE, Francis Sempore, and the president of the Smart City Foundation, Loide Monteiro.

According to its president, the foundation has developed a strategic plan for the implementation of urban innovation, which integrates the areas of sustainability, renewable energy and intelligent agriculture, with the issue of water mobilisation being the major challenge.

Loide Monteiro emphasised that this is an ambitious plan whose implementation requires significant resources and partnerships.

For this reason, she explained that the foundation presented the plan to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), which from the outset was willing to enter into a partnership to jointly develop innovative projects in Cabo Verde.
