Diplomacy: Luís Filipe Tavares is in Bissau to “reassess” some agreements

Praia, Sep 11(Inforpress) – Foreign Minister Luís Filipe Tavares arrives in Bissau today for a working visit, at the invitation of his Guinean counterpart Suzy Barbosa, in which some agreements with this West African country will be under “revision”.

“We will review the agreements and see how we work together to increase cooperation between our two countries,” he told reporters.

Another aspect of this visit to Guinea-Bissau, explained the head of Cabo Verdean diplomacy, is related to the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) and, therefore, is accompanied by the executive secretary of this intercontinental organization, Francisco Ribeiro Teles, and the Cabo Verdean ambassador to Portugal, Eurico Monteiro, who coordinates the work of the CPLP ambassadors in Lisbon, as well as the representative of Praia in Bissau, but residing in Dakar, Senegal.

In the Guinean capital, Luís Filipe Tavares has scheduled “courtesy meetings” with local authorities in which he will learn not only about issues of political organization, but also about social and economic affairs.
