David Hopffer Almada unavailable for a new term ahead of the Cabo Verdean Academy of Letters

Praia, Dec 30 (Inforpress) – The chairman of the board of directors of the Cabo Verdean Academy of Letters (ACL), David Hopffer Almada, will not run for a second term and has already announced his unavailability to the presidents of the General Assembly and the Board of Auditors.

The writer and lawyer, who made this announcement on his Facebook social page, claims that his non-application is due to “strictly personal” reasons.

David Hopffer Almada said that it was at the ordinary meeting of the ACL, held this Saturday, in Praia, where he informed his confreres about his non-application. “I take the opportunity to thank the confreres who, with me, joined the various ACL bodies, and all the others who, even not integrating them, have always been available and collaborated with the ACL, in the sense of its ever better performance and in the attainment of its statutory objectives,” reads the statement.

Hopffer Almada also thanked the public and private institutions that, according to him, “have always been available to collaborate with the ACL, enabling it to perform its tasks better.”
