COVID-19: Cabo Verde has carried out about 400 diagnostic tests to date

Praia, Apr 17 (Inforpress) – The national director for Health revealed this Thursday that from March until today, around 400 diagnostic tests for the COVID-19 disease have been carried out in Cabo Verde.

The country, according to him, has a stock of around 3.500 / 4.000 tests and is expecting to receive more tests, soon, to increase it.

As for the tests, he clarified that it had been announced that the country had received about 20 thousand tests from China, but they are not diagnostic tests, but of kits should be completed and used to make twenty thousand tests.

In Cabo Verde, according to the assessment made today by the National Director of Health, there were 55 positive cases of COVID-19, 51 in Boa Vista Island, three in the city of Praia and one in São Vicente Island. Of the confirmed cases, there was one death, a 62-year-old English citizen who was in vacation at the island, and a recovered patient.

The country, which registered the first confirmed case on March 19, has been in a state of emergency since March 29, which was extended today until April 2 in the islands of Boa Vista, Santiago and São Vicente.
