COVID-19: AN strengthens technical capacity to have plenary sessions using new technologies

Praia, May 5 (Inforpress) – The National Assembly (AN) is working on strengthening the technical capacity to have in the coming months “regularly” plenary sessions using the new technologies, said the President of Parliament, Jorge Santos.

In an interview with Inforpress, Jorge Santos stated that the National Assembly has been operating within the limits of the coronavirus contingency itself and also the state of emergency.

In other words, he added, respecting social distance, creating conditions for MPs who are outside the Santiago Island to participate through video conference.

According to him, the sessions have been “regularly”, with the participation in video conference, which, according to Jorge Santos, is “a situation that will continue in the coming months (…), until the regular opening of international flights and also domestic flights ”.

“We will have to use this format or this model for the National Assembly plenary meeting”, said the president of the National Assembly (PAN), stressing that with regard to operations of the National Assembly bodies, the meetings have also been held with video conference.
