Colmeia will launch a “petition” which aims to improve conditions of people with disabilities

Praia, 03 Jan (Inforpress) – The Colmeia association is preparing to launch a “petition document” in April to be sent to the National Assembly to improve conditions of people with disabilities.

The president of the Association of Parents and Friends of Children and Young People with Special Needs (Colmeia), Isabel Moniz, told Inforpress that Cabo Verde must create specialised responses “at all levels” to help improve the quality of life of people with disabilities

To this end, on Friday 4th Colmeia is holding a day of reflection in Praia on a document proposed to improve the conditions of people with disabilities, as part of the 10th anniversary of this social organisation.

“We intend to collect 3,000 signatures so that in April, when the institution celebrates its 10th anniversary, the document, which is the basis of the petition, will be a tool for raising awareness among the population and the authorities about the conditions of people with disabilities in the country,” she explained.
