Cabo Verdean Chess Federation promotes national championship of veterans in Achada Leitão

Praia, Apr 9 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean Chess Federation (FCX) held the first national veteran championships from August 26-28 in Achada Leitão, São Salvador do Mundo, as part of the patron’s festivities this municipality.

The veterans’ national team is in partnership with the host municipality and, according to the FCX board, the competition is also open to the chess players from the City of Praia, who wish to participate, so the organization will provide transportation to the capital’s participants, if they expressed it in the registration form.

The veterans competition will be played by ranks, ie, veterans +50, intended for players born between 1955 to 1969, and veterans +65, exclusively focused at players born until 1954.

The championship takes place at a time when FCX ​​has suspended the holding of the national team championship, initially scheduled for early May, and practically all the rest of the national sporting calendar, justified by the federation with the fact that it still “does not have signed the program contract with the Government”.
