Cabo Verde works for the implementation of the SDG with the eradication of poverty, including society – Government

Praia, Nov 12 (Inforpress) – Government wants to work towards Cabo Verde to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by eradicating poverty, including health and wellbeing for all through the preservation of the planet through partnerships, peace and prosperity.

This conviction was expressed to the press today by the Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Minister and Minister of Sport, on the pitch of the Várzea Stadium, during the “World’s Largest Lesson” (Sustainable Development Goals), an event that involved thousands of children from different schools in Santiago.

Fernando Elísio Freire praised the importance of children in this initiative, considering that it is through them that a much more inclusive and much less poverty-stricken society can be achieved in the future in which sport plays a key role in what are the true values ​​of a society: “Peace, harmony, sharing the preservation of the environment and the sustainability of development”.

The resident coordinator of the United Nations System in Cabo Verde praised the significance of this joint initiative of Unicef ​​and UNESCO, claiming that the event is intended to raise awareness, inform and inspire children and youth about the SDGs, which began in 2015.
