Mindelo, Jan 16 (Inforpress) – Minister of Health Arlindo do Rosário announced in Mindelo that conditions are being created for kidney transplantation in Cabo Verde through a draft law to be approved by the Council of Ministers.
The bill, according to the minister, will be delivered today, to be approved by the Council of Ministers.
“As you know dialysis is not a definitive situation, it is transitory, the situation is resolved with transplantation,” said Arlindo do Rosário, who also said that the onditions are being created conditions for young patients and others, who still have living conditions, can make the kidney transplantation in the country.
To this end, the Government, according to the same source, is also dealing with Portugal about the possibility of Cabo Verdean patients being enrolled in a European donor center, in order to broaden the possibility of finding compatible organs. “We have a need for either security, but we have conditions. We can transplant here in Cabo Verde, and we can better prepare and in better conditions the patients who got the transplant in Portugal and return to continue the procedure here,” he said.
