Cabo Verde falls two places in FIFA ranking and now ranks 78th

Praia, Sep 20 (Inforpress) –  The national team Cabo Verde has dropped two places in the FIFA rankings, taking 78th place with 1.315 points, according to today’s update from the governing body of world football.

At the African continent level, Cabo Verde remains in 15th place, ranking led by Senegal, the African vice-champion team, which occupies the 20th position overall.

Regarding the Portuguese-speaking African countries, Cabo Verde ranks best, ahead of Mozambique (112), Angola (121), Guinea-Bissau (123) and Sao Tome (190).

As for the Group 21 World Cup qualifiers clubs, the “Blue Sharks”, by which the Cabo Verdean team is known, are surpassed only by Cameroon, which ranks 53rd in the overall ranking, being above the Rwanda (130) and Mozambique (112).

The group stage matches begin next November and the finals will take place in Cameroon. FIFA’s ranking continues to be led by Belgium (1.752 points), followed by France, Brazil, England, Portugal, Uruguay, Spain, Croatia, Colombia, Spain and Argentina.
