Cabo Verde and Equatorial Guinea undertake to implement signed agreements and increase cooperation

Praia, Apr 17 (Inforpress) – The Foreign Ministers of Cabo Verde and Equatorial Guinea have committed themselves to creating the conditions to ensure the implementation of the signed agreements and to increase the cooperation relations between the two countries to the highest level level.

The four cooperation agreements, notably in the field of mutual protection and promotion of investments, prevention of tax evasion, visa waiver and mutual recognition of driving licenses, were signed this afternoon by Luís Filipe Tavares and Simen Oyono Esono Angue.

The ceremony was witnessed by the President of the Republic, Jorge Carlos Fonseca, the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, and the President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Mbasogo, at the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking to the press after signing the agreements, Cabo Verdean Foreign Minister Luís Filipe Tavares explained that the visa waiver did not extend to ordinary passports because, he said, he is working first on a mobility project to the entire CPLP, but visa facilitation for all passports will be carried out later.
