Nova Sintra, May 28 (Inforpress) – The regional coordinator of Civil Protection, Edson Alfama, considered this Monday that the greatest risk areas in the rainy season in Brava are the mines of aggregates, taking into account that the extraction is being done improperly.

The person in charge is in the island, working on the preparations for the rainy season, surveying the critical points such as buildings, places where there is mass movement and landslides, houses in areas that can be flooded by floods, as well as areas that may be invaded by sea waters during storms.

After the survey, Edson Alfama met with all the decentralized institutions of the State and the private sector, to know the contingency plan in the rainy season, and its role in eventual risk situations.

According to the Civil Protection official, coastal areas, which are located just below sea level and with flooding of the waves, have also been identified, can cause several damages to buildings, equipment, among others.
