Brava: Emigrant finances refurbishment of the first Church of the Nazarene in Africa, located in Brava

Nova Sintra, Jan 26 (Inforpress) – João Medina Pina, an emigrant living in the United States, has financed the refurbishment of the first Church of the Nazarene in Africa, located in Brava, in the city of Nova Sintra.

Speaking to Inforpress, João Medina Pina pointed out that the motivation behind the refurbishment was that he was the third generation of his family to attend this church and in 1975 he emigrated abroad, although he didn’t return to his homeland for 47 years.

“After I returned to the island, this church was one of the first places I visited and I left with tears in my eyes because of its state of disrepair. However, I returned to the United States of America with the idea of going back and rebuilding this house of God, and that’s what’s happening right now,” he said.

According to the same source, they are painting the church, building a bathroom, putting in new windows and doors, among other renovations.
