Praia, Jan 24 (Inforpress) – The ninth edition of the “Race to the Cradle”, organized by the Municipality of Ribeira Grande de Santiago, takes place on Saturday and has as its queen race the 14 km long race, a competition that counts with the best resident athletes today.
The organization promises to reward the first classifieds of this national competition, which will start at the Rotunda de Fazenda (city of Praia) and finish at Cidade Velha, 14 km, with the monetary prize of 50.000 escudos for the male and female senior categories.
The ninth edition of the Race to the Cradle has as main attraction the participation of the international MMA athlete Domingos Barros, best known in the sporting world of wrestling by “Destruidor”, who is on vacation in the municipality that he was born.
The “municipal race”, dedicated to athletes from the municipality, will also include the Caiada / Cidade Velha, 6 km itinerary, “Caiada / Cidade Velha walk and Achada Fortes / Rua Calhou race, 1 km dedicated to children aged 12 to 16 years old. The 200-meter School Race for children aged seven to 12 years old and the Pre-School Race-BCA / Pelourinho 100 meters (speed).
