Assembly President of Cabo Verde start visits to Sao Tome and Principe

São Tomé, Mar 12 (Inforpress) – National Assembly President Jorge Santos began a five-day working visit to Sao Tome and Principe on Saturday at the invitation of his Sao Tome counterpart, José da Graça Diogo.

“I have the privilege of visiting your country at the invitation of the President of the Assembly of São Tomé, I will maintain contacts at institutional level, dialogue with institutions of the sovereignty bodies, we will have the opportunity to visit the Príncipe and be with the government and regional assembly”, said the Cabo Verdean leader on his arrival at the Sao Tome airport.

The president of the Cabo Verdean parliament heads a delegation comprising two MPs, one from the Movement for Democracy (MpD) and another from the Cabo Verdean Independence Party (PAICV).

The Cabo Verdean parliamentarians will meet with the national authorities, especially the President of the Republic, Evaristo Carvalho, the Prime Minister, Patrice Trovoada, and the president of the São Tomé parliament, José Diogo, and will meet with the Cabo Verde community based in São Tomé and Príncipe.
