Acrides organises volunteer fair in the capital’s primary schools to mark International Volunteer Day

Praia City, 05 Dec (Inforpress) – The Association of Disadvantaged Children (Acrides) today promoted a volunteer fair at the basic schools of Achada Mato and Achada Grande Trás to mark International Volunteer Day and showcase the work done by volunteers.

According to the president of Acrides, Lourença Tavares, volunteers are the basis for the consolidation of Acrides, as she believes that it is thanks to the work that young volunteers have done over the years that the organisation’s headquarters exist today.

This year the date is being celebrated under the slogan “Volunteers for an inclusive world”, added the same source, since volunteers do a job that involves all community actions in favour of human dignity, children’s rights, humanisation and also love of others.

Lourença Tavares recalled that Acrides has been celebrating International Volunteer Day since 1998, with the aim of valuing the work of volunteers and also trying to awaken in young people the desire to volunteer.
